For the system to work, no one in the system has to know or trust the other people in the system or a third party. Without any single authority, consensus can be obtained without participants having to know or trust anything other than the system itself in a trustless setting.
Due to Bitcoin's ability to verify and record all transactional data on an immutable public blockchain, the network now has the property of trustlessness.
The great majority of transactions are based on trust, which is critical to the economy as a whole. There is a potential for people to place their trust in abstract concepts rather than institutions or other third parties in trustless systems.
In order to understand trustless systems, it is crucial to keep in mind that they do not totally erase trust, but rather distribute it in a form of economy that rewards particular actions. Trust is diminished, but not lost, in such situations.
In a centralized system, members delegate power to a central point and authorize it to make and enforce decisions. This makes the system less trustworthy. A trusted third party is required for a centralized system to function properly. A major problem can arise, though, if the reliable source cannot be relied upon. These systems are vulnerable to system failures, attacks, and hackers. The central authority can also edit or manipulate data without the consent of the people.
Decentralized, trustless money systems may not be as popular as centralized, centralized systems, because people are more willing to put their faith in organizations than systems. Trusted systems, on the other hand, are governed purely by computer code, whereas organizations are made up of individuals who can be corrupted.

Maintaining network security is rewarded with money and the trust of many members is spread. By eliminating single points of failure, the blockchain becomes more resilient to assaults and vulnerabilities.
