Hash Rate
What Is A Hash Rate?
The word hash rate refers to how quickly a machine can perform hashing computations. The hash rate measures the efficiency and performance of a mining machine in the context of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. It specifies the speed with which mining hardware attempts to compute a valid block hash.
In brief, mining entails a plethora of hashing attempts until a legitimate hash is created. In other words, a Bitcoin miner must process a large amount of data through a hash function in order to generate a hash, and they are only successful if a specific hash value is produced (a hash that starts of a certain number of zeros).
